Rockschool joins Edexcel Creative &Media 14-19 Diploma Package

Rockschool is pleased to announce that it has joined forces with Edexcel as a partner in the delivery of the Creative &Media Diploma offered by Edexcel.

Rockschool will be operating as a Component Awarding Body (CAB) for its graded exams and Music Practitioner qualifications. These qualifications can be used as Additional &Specialist learning within the Diplomas.

Rockschool at the IGF Rock Camp gives you the opportunity to plug in, play and walk away with a Rockschool Vocational Award.

No external examination is necessary. All exams are fully accredited.

CLIC Sargent PRACTICE-A-THON: Raising money for children with cancer

Rockschool have partnered with the charity CLIC Sargent to help promote music themed fundraising events such as ClIC Sargents new PRACTICE-A-THON.

Sargent Cancer Care for Children was established in memory of conductor Sir Malcolm Sargent, who died from pancreatic cancer in 1967. It later merged with the charity Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood to form CLIC Sargent.

PRACTICE-A-THON is an initiative that allows participants to raise money for both children with cancer (via CLIC Sargent), and their own school or music group at the same time. No-one understands the need for practice better than Rockschool, and we're delighted to be able to offer our support!

New DVD Releases: Rockschool - The Movie

Rockschool proudly announces the launch of Rockschool Guitar: The Movie. Covering all the exam elements in Debut & Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 Guitar, these three DVDs are introduced by Rockschool examiner Andy Moore, and ITV presenter Charlie Webster.

Andy gives tips on posture, demonstrates techniques (good and bad!), and explains how best to approach the pieces and all other exam material. Experience an exam first hand as Charlie is put through her paces under the watchful eye of Rockschool's Director of Academic Affairs, Jeremy Ward.

Each DVD is priced at £22.50 and can be purchased direct from www.musicroom.com or any good music shop. Charlie and Andy will be promoting the launch of Rockschool Guitar: The Movie at the London International Music Show on Friday 13th June (Stand C6), where the DVDs will be available at a special show price.

Congratulations to Oerly Musikschule!

We're very pleased to be able to pass on our congratulations to the students of the Oerly Musikschule for their recent success. The following is taken from a recent article in the Neue Westfälische:

The first alumni of the UK based Rockschool program are the 38 girls and boys of the Oerly Musikschule, in Oerlinghausen. Rockschool is an education programme in 8 stages, where the students can measure and improve their musical performance. The music school of Barbara and David Clarke in Oerlinghausen is one of the first institutions in Germany to offer the program.
